Asian Brush Painting Workshop: Chrysanthemum
Against a backdrop of meditative music, this day- long workshop is your doorway to the exciting, yet, contemplative world of Asian art!
This workshop is for those interested in learning & using the traditional tools & techniques of Asian Brush Painting ("sumi-e" in Japan).
Through step-by-step instructor demonstrations and hands-on brush painting projects, you will explore this ancient and elegant art form. Using the "Four Treasures" (bamboo brushes, handground ink, inkstone, and rice paper), you will leave class with two completed works. Subjects for the workshop will be Chrysanthemum & Calligraphy. Chrysanthemum is the symbol of Autumn, loyalty and enduring friendship. Come learn to paint this noble flower of the East!
Previous art experience not necessary. All materials provided. Class fee: $185
